The Problems to Solve

For the millions of Americans that sit in front of a computer for 8 hours a day, 1 in 4 will develop carpal tunnel syndrome or some other form of repetitive injury throughout their career. Carpal tunnel syndrome alone costs employers nearly $8 billion dollars annually to provide treatment and accommodations for those employees.

Currently, nothing bridges the gap from traditional care like hot/cold therapy, pain medication, and braces to the expert care of physical therapists. Every year, half of all US adults will develop a condition that can likely be treated by a physical therapists, but only about 9% actually seek treatment.

Solution

Physio is a IoT device that connects to a variety of therapeutic sleeves (depending on the type of injury), each with their own embedded sensors and heating pads. Paired with live data transmission to a mobile device, the Physio app tracks the position of the users motion and measures range of motion through the recovery process in the same way a physical therapist would.

Combined with world-class machine learning, Physio is a physical therapist in your pocket. The app guides the user through their rehabilitation goals to create a personalized workout plan for their recovery that is as flexible as they'll eventually become. The app instructs users on how to perform the recommended exercises and measures several axis of movement to ensure the user is performing them correctly.
